Last night, I updated the header with a new graphic. I decided to draw a new “grid cycle”… one that more resembled the Light Bikes seen in Tron. For your amusement, I’ve included a smaller version of my original here!

I’m just gonna post the trailer. It says it all:
Introducing the RetroN3! It slices, it dices–it can even cut this tin can! That’s right and if you order now, we’ll throw in the kitchen sink!
You might be saying to yourself right now, “Man, another stupid NES clone.” Well, I did too. Except that this one is a little different…
- Unlike previous NES/SNES/Genesis clones, this one can play all three.
- Control ports for all types of original controllers:
- NES
- SNES
- And Genesis!
Sources all over the interwebs are claiming this will debut at E3, but it’s already in the wild and being sold at eBay and by cheap-ass retailers all over the world. The cost? Anywhere between $50 to $70 depending on how hard you look. It comes in two colors. Vector Red and Boring Grey. The price may seem a little steep for a single machine for old skool games but when you think about what this can do it’s not such a bad deal.
Tonight I decided to finally install the NOS replacement power switch I bought for my ATARI VCS over a year ago from Best Electronics in California. This ATARI’s power switch has been pretty flaky since I bought it from Discland in Bloomington almost 2 years ago.
The replacement of a switch isn’t a huge job either – – I’ve just always had better things to do. Since it still functioned with some fidgeting – – I just worked with it. The whole process took about 30 minutes or so and the new power switch is effortless to operate as you will see in the below video. It also improved the picture quality–though you can’t really see it in this video.

I recently completed another set of ColecoVision modifications to one of my spare machines. Actually, this one went through quite a bit of changes even before I began the targeted mods. Ultimately the goal was 3 fold:
- To fit the ColecoVision with an Active/Passive panel LED indicator
- Replace the bunk switch with a $2.50 switch from Ax-Man
- Install a component video mod kit that I purchased from 5-11 over at Atariage.
As you can see below, the switch is pretty cool. When the machine is off, the light is red. When it’s on… well you get the picture.

Below are some images that I picked out to showcase the mod, the originals and more are available over at my Flickr set.
