PnT opens at 10:00 a.m. on Friday (Which I think is normal.)
Buy 2 Get 2 Free off any used title at the store. That means the stuff behind the glass is fair game too.

Note: The cheapest of your selections will be the free ones so it’s a good time to fill in your collection with the higher end used stuff.

Also, mention that you saw the ad at GridCycle and you’ll get the opportunity to choose any game from the center island of NES, SNES, Genesis, Sega Master System and PS1 Games (normally priced at $5.99 or less) for the low price of 10 for $10.

Sadly someone purchased the VirtuaBoy bundle they had. 😉

One last thing: If you do go to the store on Friday, you can enter to win $50 in cash that they will draw for at 6:00pm. You do have to go to the store to enter the contest, however–you do not have to be present to win.

If you need directions or want to print a copy of the ad you see featured to the left, you can download the PDF for this sale here.

P.S. Would one of you with an AtariAge account mind passing this news around?

Here’s the teaser…

Neo-Retro is growing as a popular trend in Video Game releases.  The Nintendo Wii Virtual Console is a great example of ported classics.  The XBox 360 has new versions of Tron, Discs of Tron and Pac-Man with entirely new gameplay.  Game like the Last Guy, a Japanese top-down game with and old-skool flavor are exremely popular on the PS3 with remakes like 1942 and Bionic Commando rounding out the latest juicy neo-retro offerings. Oh and let’s not forget that they’ve already cashed in on us old-skoolers with games like Space Invaders Extreme for the DS. Nintendo now plans to add to the neo-retro craze with their latest DS title: Retro Game Challenge!

According to this IGN article, Namco is producing a suite of “New Old Games” for the DS.

Games List:

  • Cosmic Gate:  Galaga-inspired game.
  • Haggle Man: Puzzle/action platformer.
  • Rally King: Racer.
  • Star Prince: A shooter inspired by Star Soldier
  • Rally King SP:  Sequel to Rally King.
  • Haggle Man 2: The sequel to Haggle Man that boasts better graphics than it’s predecessor.
  • Guadia Quest: King’s Quest?  Nah…  But it’s an involved RPG.
  • Haggle Man 3: The final sequel in the Ninja series.

Apparently, the new game “Mirror’s Edge” by EA is creating quite the stir… in people’s stomachs.  According to this article Mirror’s Edge, a game set in a distopian future with a Snowcrash-like plot is a first person video game where you (as the courier) are frequently attempting to outrun “the man”.

As Faith, the courier, you only see your legs, arms, and torso on screen. Mirror’s Edge differs from the standard first-person video games allowing for a full range of motion.  The player can maneuver freely with moves like somersaults,  shimmying across ledges, sliding under low objects and running up walls. Additionally, the game is brightly colored and realistic.

Evidently this new free-range of motion style action is so fast paced it’s making people literally sick. Cases of vomiting have been reported.

You mayn’t wanna watch this at work. If you do… put some headphones on so as not to draw too much attention. It’s hard not to watch this one at least twice… Apparently this aired on Monday Night Football not too long ago…
