Another Tron-like game is about to be released over Steam. Tank Universal was released independently last year, but now is getting a bit more exposure through Steam. I haven’t played it yet, but the screens and vids seem cool. Your quick blurb:

Tank Universal creates a huge virtual ‘Tron-like’ world where you take part in immense 3D tank battles involving scores of units both friendly and not so friendly in wide open levels!

Players can bombard the enemy from a distance or close the gap and dodge shells point blank – all in an immersive first person perspective.

That looks kinda cool. I removed steam from my computer tho.

That was silly. Why did you do that?

Because I don’t like the fact it is set to automatically pop up in my tray. And I was pruning to recover every ounce of available system resources. So until I actually use it for anything–pffft… it was yanked.

Yeah, the system tray thing is annoying. I turned that off. I only turn on Steam when I need it.

I just figured, I never play anything on it so why have it running. This might bring me back to running it tho. I still haven’t ponied up the full $10 for AudioSurf either.

Steam has come a long way. I had also removed it from my system long ago but I recently installed it again because I wanted Civ4. I was very impressed, the transaction was easy and it’s got a lot of nice features and options.
