EA has just released a whole bunch of new games for smartphones and the iPod. “New” may be a bit of a stretch since many of them are based on popular board games. Nonetheless, if you’ve got one of these devices and you are itching for a new game… you may want to check them out.

EA Mobile has launched The Sims 2 Castaway and The Sims Pool, both extensions of the enormously popular The Sims franchise; Monopoly Here & Now, a modern version of the world popular board game; Yahtzee Adventures, the treasured dice game updated with unique characters and settings; and Merv Griffin’s Crosswords, based on the popular TV show. In addition, visually rich iPod versions of the hit Hasbro games Scrabble (in North America only) and Yahtzee are now available for purchase from the iTunes Store.

Hey gang, something new and fun. Gravatars! What you say???

Globally Recognized Avatars!

Somebody set us up the bomb. Make your time!!!!

Ha ha ha ha.

—

Gravatars are simply “icons” or “avatars” that are associated with your registered email address. The cool thing is when you comment on this site you’ll see your gravatar next to your name. If you don’t have one, you end up with the boring default Gridcycle avatar. Currently, gravatars are only visible in comments and not in posts. The reason for this is that it affects the overall layout–but that’s another story.

So go to http://en.gravatar.com/ and setup your avatar. You can choose any photo from the web or make your own. It will be 80px x 80px so design accordingly.

Then, about ten minutes after it’s been uploaded, it will magically appear on this site–assuming you used the proper email address. If you need to update your profile on this site go here: https://gridcycle.org/wp-admin/profile.php

Enjoy!
