Street Fighter IV is scheduled to be released across platforms in June. Looks like it’ll be really sweet and I’m pretty excited about it.
Details: here.
Only problem is that I HATE playing fighting games on typical console controllers. Tim will laugh at me about this but I just can’t get the hang of it, I’ve spent way to much time playing street fighter in the arcade.
Anyway, i just came across these sweet alternatives:
here.
They can be modded with after market parts. They also work with other xbox arcade games and even pc games.
Only problem is I guess they are hard to find, and crazy expensive.
I also noticed madcatz makes a joystick for the xbox for $40 that would be pretty fun with pacman championship edition. yap, link

Screw that June nonsense! It’s out NOW!
Expect a full review soon…
p.s.
I won’t laugh at you, because I’ve invested dollars in my X-Arcade with parts to get it to a true arcade panel experience. Happs Competition Sticks with Cherry micro switches… ain’t nothing sweeter than that!
I have that 360 controller from Mad Catz on clearance. Bought it solely for the paddle wheel, but probably isn’t supported well in MAME for PC gaming. I also bought a Pelican arcade stick that has connectors for Dreamcast, gameCube & PS2 since it too was also on clearance. Came in handy for the “Quiz & Dragons” game by taito which is a multiple-choice trivia game.
So far, this game is epic. I do have my gripes with it, but they are easily outweighed by the quality and sheer fun this title exudes. I plan on working up a full review to post on here as soon as I get this latest round of homework out of the way, plus, I’m sure I’ll be talking about it on this weeks Gamehounds and GridCycle ‘casts.
And we all knew it was coming, but Gamezine.co.uk has fired the first shot in the fanboy wars over this title. They claim the PS3 version suffers from ‘jaggies’ on (very)close inspection, thus “proving” the PS3 isn’t using the smooth 4x AA the 360 is… give me a break… I hate this kind of crap. It’s not like back in the old days where there were OBVIOUS differences between platforms. People go to pretty extreme lengths for their fanboyism these days…

sweet. what version did you get? can you bring it to adam’s on sun?
… and just because I can’t resist… Of course the 360 version is better!
Got it for the 360, ’cause that’s the only current gen system I’ve got (and need, ATM). So in that case, bringing it over to Adam’s might prove difficult with how entrenched the 360 is as our home media center… perhaps if another super-cool GridCycler was willing and able to bring their system?…
i can bring mine. assuming adam’s cool with hooking to his TV. or we could stop over at my place at some point. I only live a mile or so away.
Well, we should ask:
“Adam, may POI bring his 360 to your house and hook it up to your television so we can play awesome Street Fighter games?”
My TV sucks.
Let’s go to Adam’s beforehand for some testing of the game. Then we’ll drive over and record the podcast.
Sounds like a plan to me. We still shooting for 3pm?
Yeah, I’d like to -=start=- recording by 4 at the very very latest. That way we can eat afterward. If we start then the recording should be done by around 5-5:30.
just fyi, a co-worker found that barns and noble of all places. currently 80 bucks. their current #1 best seller item.

POI: What time do you want to meet at your place? Probably should mail g2c2 at gridcycle.com. Subscribe if you haven’t.
Here’s another cheaper fight stick:

unfortunately, also on backorder pretty much everywhere. 🙁
Honestly, I wouldn’t spend the money on that one. I’ve used it, and it’s far too light, and made of hollow plastic. Hori is coming out with a new stick to compete with the Mad Catz line, and the initial reviews have been glowing.

Just wait a few months. All the fervor will have died out, and the manufacturers that ramped up production to meet the immediate demand will likely have a glut of overstock they need to blow out. That’s when I’ll be picking up mine. (or the X-Arcade adapter, if MS ever gives them permission to make it)
