Anyone else seeing this?

atariagedown

I’ve been trying for the past 1/2 hour to get there.  I don’t know if this is typical or not.

The Ataris are burning!  The Ataris are burning!

I was on it a half hour ago just fine. Doesn’t work for me either. It had some DNS issues last night as well.

It’s weird because abandonia is down too. I’m wondering if there is a wider problem…

Maybe Michael Jackson’s legacy on the news sites is having weird side effects. CHAMON.

Working now, but yeah, having problems the past couple days. I don’t think they are paying their extortion fees to the Russian mob. Actually the real reason from Albert…

If you’ve tried accessing AtariAge in the past several hours, you likely were not able to connect. This was also the issue last night for a period of time (on and off). Looks like there is a hardware issue with the server and that it’s periodically locking up. The hosting company has been looking into it and I just got off the phone with them. It’s likely that I will be setting up a new server soon if these crashes continue occurring (which I assume at this point is going to be the case).

So, don’t be alarmed if you cannot access AtariAge again–know that I’m working on the issue and I’m not too happy about it myself. Either the problem with this server will be fixed or AtariAge will be transplanted onto another box.

I was going to go ahead and blame the release of Stella 2.8 that adds in all the fancy “CRT effects” that the nerdnet was raging about a few months ago.

It’s cool, but I still don’t think it’s as accurate as some people think. It looks like what a bunch of kids who weren’t alive when the VCS was out would imagine a TV would look like.

I talked to Al. He said it looks like a hardware problem and it should be up soon.
