Nyko introduced a new controller at CES 2010, the Wand+. Basically the controller is a WiiMote with motion plus built-in, without the cumbersome motion+ add-on. No need for the rubber condom either, because the underbelly of the controller is rubberized. Also no sign of a strap.
Other things I can see, the d-pad looks a touch bigger, and may have better diagonal support. The buttons are a touch bigger, and the ‘home’ button has been lifted above the ‘-‘ and ‘+’ buttons. ArsTechnica got a hold of one, and had nothing negative to say during their brief play with Wand+.
Curious to see if there is a similar version released by Nintendo. Probably won’t see their version until the next incremental upgrade of the Wii.
Edit: Wand+ hasn’t been released yet… a few months away.

Cool!
I’m waiting for these to come out. Thought I saw them in the store yesterday, but it was just the standard Nyko Wand.
According to wikipedia, we’ll have to wait until March.
Do we know the price? It will have to be cheaper than the Nintendo one.
$40. A wiimote with motion plus is $50.
I’m all for it. The Wiimote with motion plus is an unwieldy monster. So long as this fits in my Wii Zapper.
Not worthy of a fresh post, but definitely on my must-get list… classic controller pro.
You can use the forums for the “not worthy of a new post” posts… 🙂
… or I could go ROGUE !!!
