Watching this actually hurts me. A company called SSI shows off it’s industrial shredding services by destroying an Asteroids cabinet. Ugh. The real pain comes when after you see the cabinet bounce into the grinder, the scrap of what was once a magnificent piece of arcade history comes rolling off the conveyor belt. Scratch another artifact of gaming history off the list.

Ok, I know I may be one of the few on this site… who posts… or even reads… (I kind of feel like Jon in the Garfield Minus Garfield cartoons) but more to the point: I’m probably one of the few that has torn apart a real Arcade game and put parts of it together and/or tweaked them.
I find this eBay auction humorous. Can you guess why?
“I picked this up at a yard sale and do not know what is wrong with it.”

Poor guy. I feel bad that he didn’t know… But it’s still kinda funny.

Wow.
D: What’s your crown jewel, your fav arcade of them all?
PH: It would be a tie between Discs of Tron, Tail Gunner, Space War, and Lunar Lander.JD: And what’s the public’s favorite, what machine sees the most traffic?
PH: The favorite game among visitors would probably be Galaga. The only reason I got that game was because people kept harassing me for not having it. I don’t really like the game that much. Star Wars is another really big favorite among guests.
I just pre-ordered the DVD of this video game documentary. Got it off of Amazon. We’ll have to have a viewing after I receive it.
