Introducing the RetroN3! It slices, it dices–it can even cut this tin can! That’s right and if you order now, we’ll throw in the kitchen sink!

You might be saying to yourself right now, “Man, another stupid NES clone.” Well, I did too. Except that this one is a little different…

  1. Unlike previous NES/SNES/Genesis clones, this one can play all three.
  2. Control ports for all types of original controllers:
  • NES
  • SNES
  • And Genesis!

Sources all over the interwebs are claiming this will debut at E3, but it’s already in the wild and being sold at eBay and by cheap-ass retailers all over the world.  The cost?  Anywhere between $50 to $70 depending on how hard you look.  It comes in two colors.  Vector Red and Boring Grey. The price may seem a little steep for a single machine for old skool games but when you think about what this can do it’s not such a bad deal.

It’s like Christmas and my birthday all rolled into one today! In addition to the hotness that is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2, Capcom also announced the LONG awaited sequel to one of the greatest fighting game of all-time: Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Yeah, it’s going to be a great year of gaming for me. 🙂

If you know me, you know how the first BC: Rearmed was nearly a religious experience for me. Well, now it’s getting a sequel. I’m not sure how I feel about the jumping. Not being able to jump is one of the key mechanics of the game play, so we’ll see how they handle it. Sad that this isn’t being done by the original devs at Grin (even though they’ve reformed as Might and Delight), but my hopes will remain high until proven otherwise.

Now it is the Atari 2600 collector’s turn to lose some sanity. A rare Atari 2600 game is up for auction. Air Raid is an R10 rarity game. The version of Air Raid up for auction is the only known copy that still has the original box. Albert of AtariAge.com saw the game and box in person and validated it. Here is the forum thread that started it all. The bid is up to $6,500 as I type, with 8 days still remain for the auction.

Air Raid for the Atari 2600

Yep. The danger seems to have passed. Luckily, thanks to the being busy with work and a non-stop diet of the Winter Olympics (I miss them already), this whole thing came and went before I even got a chance to switch on my PS3. Anywho, looks like Sony managed to side-step their very own RRoD fiasco. They’ll probably claim that it’s because of the power of the Cell that the systems were self-aware enough to correct the Leap Year bug that seems to have caused all of this. Or something.
