Ever wish your could answer the question “What are you doing?” from the klackity keyboard of your C64? Wish no more. An enterprising electronic engineer by the name of Johan Van den Brande has created the first ever Twitter client that runs on Commodore 64 hardware called Breadbox64. Granted, it’s not something that you can simply toss onto a vanilla C64. You’ll need to made a few additions to it, most notably is an ethernet jack and a new OS. But forget all that technical malarkey. Just enjoy the sheer awesomness of a 27 year-old computer being able to send tweets. The above video doesn’t really get into the A-Team levels of awesome until the 2:45 mark, so be like a NKOTB and hang tough. If you just can’t stand the excitement anymore, then feel free to download the program here.

As the title of this entry states: We’re now on twitter. For those of us that are regular authors, this is an important announcement. The integration of GridCycle with twitter means that any post that is made here will instantly be syndicated on the twitter feed. This currently includes post edits. That means if your a frequent editor like I am–we may run into a rash of repeat tweets on the Twitter site.
The moral of the story here is: Remember to preview before you post! Otherwise, it’s business as usual for our authors.
I imagine I will want to turn the “edits” off in the future but right now I’m going to leave them enabled as any press is good press in this case. So! If you’re not already… Follow GridCycle On Twitter!
