Let’s get the important stuff out of the way first. Yes, there will be beer. There will also be games. Lots and lots of games.

There are a couple of things I need from you guys. Again, we’ll start with the most important part… what do you want to eat? More specifically, should we have hot dogs, pizza or both? I was going to set up the hot dog roller (you know, the kind that they have at finer gas stations around the world). This would also be accompanied by chili, cheese, onions, relish, etc. I guess I’d like to know if that is appealing to enough of you or if you’d rather have pizza.

I also need tables and chairs for games to be set up on. It would be most helpful if those tables and chairs could be set up on Friday night.

Also, we should figure out what games (and display devices) people are going to bring. Please post a list of everything you could potentially bring and then we can collectively decide who should bring what (so we don’t have too many duplicates and people don’t have to haul around extra stuff).

So post your replies with the following information:

1) Hot Dogs, Pizza or Both.
2) Whether you have tables and chairs you could bring (and whether you could bring those on Friday).
3) What games and displays you could bring.

Lastly, if anyone has a small fusion reactor we can use to power everything, that would be helpful as well.

Everyone who is planning on coming to the retro party a month from now may be interested in picking up an extra Free TV that can be used for their gear.

A great place to do this right now is Craigslist. There are a ton of people trying to unload those unwanted non-digital TVs for really cheap or even FREE. There are even a number of 13″ sizes which are perfect! So if you’re interested check out this link and git yourself a free TV.

I took the scoreboard from the Retro Gaming Party v.3 and added all of them to this handy table. It’s located in the sidebar under Pages under the heading “High Scores”.

Good luck, programs.

Cloudscout has a pretty cool Pinball machine that I’ve begged him to bring down the block. He says he’ll do it if I can find adequate help to transport the machine from and back to his home. It’s in his garage and requires light disassembly and some careful heavy lifting. It would be very cool to have this at the party and it need only go from garage to garage. Including me, I would like 3 other volunteers–possibly 4. If you plan on arriving right at the beginning and think you might have the strength, please let me know.
